Medical Informatics
Introduction

The Master's program in Medical Informatics, as a new interdisciplinary field, aims to educate and train individuals in the principles of utilizing information and communication technology in the areas of data storage, management, and retrieval, as well as data processing and analysis for decision-making, problem-solving, and improvement of systems and processes in the healthcare sector. As an interdisciplinary field, its scope of activity combines medical and healthcare sciences with information and communication technology (including hardware, software, artificial intelligence and robotics, computer science, telecommunications, computer networks, and similar areas). The primary purpose of this integration is to apply information and communication technology to address existing issues in medical sciences and develop innovative solutions to enhance healthcare. The main mission of this program is to educate graduates who can work in healthcare, educational, and research centers, as well as managerial positions and in companies developing information and communication technology solutions for use in the healthcare.

Job skills

In order to achieve the defined mission for the field of Medical Informatics, all objectives, visions, missions, and formulated plans for Medical Informatics are aimed at educating graduates in a way that enables them to understand the existing issues in the field of medical sciences, anticipate the future of healthcare in the country and the world, project management, design of medical data structures, development of healthcare information systems, telemedicine, adherence to standards, utilization of data analysis methods and tools for decision-making, evidence-based medicine, and personalized medicine based on the principles of bioinformatics, application of artificial intelligence, as well as the deployment of emerging technologies (such as IoT and wearable technologies, virtual and augmented reality, and similar ones) to acquire the necessary and sufficient knowledge and skills.
